IV - Repairing axle shaft with triple roller joint AAR 3300i; for vehicles with 1.8 Ltr. and 2.8 Ltr. engines and automatic transmission Tiptronic AG 350; 06.01>
1. Self-locking 12-point nut
^ Any paint residue and/or corrosion on thread of the outer joint must be removed before nut is installed.
2. Constant velocity joint boot
^ Check for tears and chafing
3. Clamp
^ Always replace
4. Clamp
5. Triple roller joint boot
^ Check for tears and chafing
6. Triple rotor star with rollers
The chamfer -arrow- points to axle shaft splines.
7. Circlip
^ Always replace
8. Multi-point socket head bolt
9. Triple roller joint housing
10. Axle shaft
11. Spring washer
12. Thrust washer
13. Circlip
^ Always replace
^ Insert in shaft groove
14. Outer constant velocity joint
^ Only replace complete
^ Installing: drive onto shaft with plastic hammer until compressed circlip seats
