Input Shaft, Adjusting

Input shaft, adjusting
(Determining thickness of circlip for input shaft)
Special tools and workshop equipment required

- 30-100 Drift sleeve

- 3167 Distance gauge

It is only necessary to readjust the input shaft when
- Transmission housing
- Input shaft
or the
- Ball bearing
is replaced.

- Clamp input shaft vice using vice clamps -A-.
- Place distance gauge 3167 onto 3rd gear wheel.
- Place transmission housing over input shaft onto the distance gauge.

- Place depth gauge onto transmission housing and measure to the lower circlip groove in the input shaft.
Dimension a = 28.5 mm (example)

- Place depth gauge onto transmission housing and measure to ball bearing seated.
Dimension b = 26.8 mm (example)

Determining circlip x behind the input shaft ball bearing.
x = Dimension a - dimension b
x = 28.5 mm - 26.8 mm
x = 1.70 mm

Note: Allocate circlip according to parts catalog.

The following circlips are available:
Determining the circlip in front of input shaft ball bearing.
- Knock rear circlip (as calculated) and ball bearing onto the input shaft with fitting sleeve 30 -100.

- Determine the thickest circlip, which will still fit.

Note: Allocate circlip according to parts catalog.
