Clutch Pedal And Over-center Spring, Removing And Installing
Removing
- Remove cover below instrument panel. Interior Moulding / Trim
Notes:
Make sure that the clutch pedal switch -arrow- is not pressed out of the securing clip. The thread of the switch will be damaged and the switch must be replaced.
In order to guaranteed sufficiently secure seating, you can install the clutch pedal switch -arrow- one time only.
- Detach clutch pedal from master cylinder by prying out securing clip for pin with screwdriver -arrow 2- and pulling out pin -arrow 2-
- Press clutch pedal securing clip -arrow 1- off pivot pin with a screwdriver.
- Remove plug -arrow 2-
- Press clutch and brake pedal pivot pin out to right, until clutch pedal can be removed.
- If necessary press brake pedal securing clip off pivot pin with a screwdriver.
- Take out clutch pedal and over-center spring.
Installing
The installation procedure is the reverse of the removal sequence, when installing note the following:
- Align clutch pedal/brake pedal pivot pin so that it protrudes from mounting bracket on clutch pedal side (arrow).
- Press clutch pedal onto stop and insert over-center spring in its seat on clutch pedal.
- Now put clutch pedal in the pivot pin and push it to the left until securing clip cam be attached
- Connect master cylinder to clutch pedal and engage securing clip for pin in clutch pedal
- Do not tighten bolt -arrow 2- until both securing clips -arrow 1- for clutch pedal; clip for brake pedal (not visible) have been installed on the clutch pedal/brake pedal pivot pin.
- Adjust clutch pedal switch above clutch pedal.
