Fluid Pan: Service and Repair

Oil pan, removing and installing
Special tools and equipment





- VAG 1306 Drip tray





- VAG 1331 Torque wrench

Removing





- Remove noise insulation tray -arrows-.
- Place drip tray VAG 1306 underneath.





- Remove drain plug -arrow 1-.
- Drain ATF.
- Unscrew bolts on oil pan in diagonal sequence and remove oil pan.

Installing
Install in reverse order but note following:
The oil drain plug and seal must be replaced.
- Clean all four magnets in the recesses of the oil pan. Ensure magnets are seated correctly in the oil pan.
- Install oil pan with new gasket.
- Tighten oil pan bolts in several stages and in diagonal sequence.
- Tighten new drain plug.
- Fill with ATF, then check ATF level and top up.
