General information

Various standard or optional radio systems are installed from m.y. 1998.

Radio systems "Premium III" & "Premium IV" through 07.99.

Radio systems "Premium V" and optional "Premium V - Monsoon" from 08.99.

Radio systems "Premium VI" and optional "Premium VI - Monsoon" (installed as running change during m.y. 2001).

Before troubleshooting or servicing, technicians must be familiar with the functions and operation specifics of the applicable standard or optional radio system. Always read the radio owner's manual and review all radio, tape player, CD Player and CD Changer functions as applicable.

All radios are protected with anti-theft security coding (fixed code). Additional information: Radio owners manual

Note: Only factory approved accessory radios and radio equipment (available from Volkswagen of America, Inc.) should be installed. This ensures proper installation and optimum function.
