Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)

The Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) is part of the electrical check.
Check the DTC memory after performing output DTM.

Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM), initiating


NOTE:
- Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) cannot be initiated, or will be interrupted if engine is running or vehicle is moving.
- Use the -C- button to exit the test sequence at any time.


- Connect VAG 1551 Scan Tool (ST), input address word 56 "Radio" and then press -> button, until "Select function XX" is shown in display.

- Press buttons -0- and -3- to select function 03 "Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM)".

- Press -Q- button to confirm input.

Output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM) ->
Speaker


- A tone emits from all speakers in sequence

If a fault is detected in the speaker system, a DTC will load into memory.

- If no tone emits from one or more speakers, check DTC memory if necessary.
- Check and repair speaker system as necessary, erase DTC memory and continue with Output DTM

If Output DTM (speaker function) is OK
- Press -> button.

- The message "TEST DISPLAY" appears in the instrument cluster radio display (where applicable).
- Press -> button.
- The message "DIAG." appears in the instrument cluster radio display.
- Press -> button.
