^ VW 401 Press plate
^ VW 460 Removal device
^ 3267 Assembly ring

Note:
^ Only disassemble if you clean or visually check components.
^ When checking ensure ball valve (arrow) is not damaged.





1. Circlip Mark after removing and install in same position
2. Thrust plate
^ Smooth side facing inner plates
3. Inner plate
^ Quantity. Refer to Application and ID.
4. Outer plate
^ Quantity. Refer to Application and ID.
5. Corrugated washer
6. Circlip
^ Removing and installing refer to Fig. 1
^ Installation position refer to Fig. 2
7. Spring support plate
^ With springs
^ Installation position refer to Fig. 2
8. Spring support ring
9. Piston
^ Seals are vulcanized to piston
^ Moisten Seals with ATF before installing
^ Turn piston slightly when installing
10. Clutch housing

- Press spring supporting plate down with 3267 just enough to remove and install circlip.

Note:
^ Be careful not to damage clutch housing ball valve.

Circlip (arrow) must be seated in groove of clutch housing. Spring supporting plate must be centered relative to hub.
