Checking and replacing locking unit for 5th gear and reverse gear





- Remove cover plate (arrow -2-) above the right hand drive shaft.
- Press down cover plate (arrow -1-) above the right-hand drive shaft.





- Remove locking unit (arrow)





- Checking and assembling the locking unit:
- Place spring -1- into housing -2- and exerting light pressure turn to left, until the spring locates in the base of the housing.
- Insert bush -3- onto the spring so that the bent end of the spring locates in the groove.
- Push bush -3- against spring and turn approx. 1 turn to left, until the lug on the bush aligns with the groove in the housing -2-.
- Press lug on bush -3- onto stop in the groove in the housing -2-.
- Turn bush -3- to right and release; the bush -3 will jump into correct position.





Installed position:
- The lug (arrow -A-) on the bush must always be opposite the groove in the housing (arrow -B-).





Installation position of complete locking unit in transmission:
The recess (arrow-A-) faces bolt )arrow -B-).
