Camshaft, removing and installing
Removing
- Remove upper drive belt guard.
- Loosen camshaft drive belt sprocket using 3036 retainer.
- Move camshaft drive belt sprocket to cyl. 1 TDC mark by turning crankshaft.
- Mark on camshaft drive belt sprocket must line up with arrow on drive belt guard.
- Loosen tensioner and remove drive belt.
- Remove upper intake manifold and remove cylinder head cover.
- Remove camshaft drive belt sprocket.
- Remove Woodruff key from camshaft.
- Remove camshaft bearing caps 1, 3 and 5.
- Loosen camshaft bearing caps 2 and 4 alternately and diagonally, and remove.
Installing
Note:
- When installing the camshaft, the cam lobes for cylinder 1 must point upward.
- When installing the camshaft bearing caps, note the bearing offset.
- Before installation, fit bearing cap to determine installation position.
- Oil contact surfaces of camshaft.
- Tighten bearing caps 2 and 4 alternately and diagonally.
- Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
- Install bearing caps 1, 3 and 5.
- Tightening torque: 20 Nm (15 ft lb)
- Install Woodruff key in camshaft.
- Install camshaft drive belt sprocket using 3036 retainer.
- Tightening torque: 80 Nm (59 ft lb)
- Install drive belt and adjust tension.
