Shift Interlock Cable: Adjustments
Locking Cable, Adjusting
Caution!
^ Follow adjustment procedure exactly as outlined.
Adjustment Condition:
^ Locking cable must be routed correctly
^ Center console is removed.
^ Selector lever is in "P"
^ Ignition key is removed.
Adjustment Sequence:
- Slide sleeve -1-forward.
- Release clip -2- by pushing up.
- Remove (pull) connector -4-.
- Remove sleeve -5- up.
- Release selector lever housing cover at retaining tabs -6- (Qty. 4) by hand and lift off.
- Carefully pry off four corners of bracket-7- and remove. Be careful not to damage contact spring for shift lever position indicator.
- Slide 0.8 mm feeler gauge between locking lever aid selector lever roller.
- Pull outer sleeve of locking cable slightly forward in direction of travel -arrow 1- and push red clip down until it engages -arrow 2-.
- Push sleeve over clip.
- Ignition key removal lock, checking. Refer to Shift Interlock; Testing and Inspection. Testing and Inspection
