Shift Interlock Solenoid: Service and Repair




Removing And Installing Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-

Removing
- Remove selector lever mechanism. Shifter A/T
- Remove stop buffer from cable lever.
- Shift selector lever into Tiptronic position, then remove frame.
- Shift selector lever into position "2."
- Lift lever for locking cable, detach from mount and remove from mounting bracket.
- Press out pin for locking pawl using drift.
- Lift out shift lock solenoid together with locking pawl.

Installing
- Shift selector lever into position "2."
- Install shift lock solenoid -N110- in mounting bracket from above together with locking pawl.
- Carefully drive in pin for locking pawl.
- Use screwdriver to make sure locking pawl is properly engaged when selector lever is in positions "P" and "N."
- Peace locking lever in mounting bracket and make sure that it engages properly at both mounts.
- Check operation of locking lever. With selector lever in position "P." locking lever should engage detent and make it impossible to change gear.
- Place frame on mounting bracket (ribbed side upward) and install stop buffer in cable lever.
- Install selector lever mechanism.
