EPC Warning Lamp Functional Check
Function test:
- Switch on ignition: EPC warning lamp must light up.
If EPC indicator lamp does not light up when ignition is switched on:
- Check wire from the ECM to the Electronic Power Control (EPC) warning lamp as follows:
If EPC warning lamp does not light up when ignition is switched on, continue test as follows:
- Start engine and let run at idle: The EPC warning lamp must go out after one second.
If EPC warning lamp does not go out:
- Check DTC memory, repair any malfunctions and then erase DTC memory, Checking and erasing DTC memory.
If there no DTCs are stored:
- Read readiness code. If DTC memory was erased or the Engine Control Module (ECM) was disconnected from the continuous B+ supply, the readiness code must be re-generated.
