Front Caliper Piston, Removing and Installing



Front caliper piston, removing and installing





Special tools required

Removing





- Push piston out of brake caliper housing with compressed air via brake hose connection.

Note: Place a piece of wood in recess to prevent damaging piston.





- Remove seal with plastic wedge 3409 or equivalent.

Note: Ensure cylinder surface is not damaged.

Installing
- Clean piston surface and seal with clean solvent only.
- Thinly coat piston and seal with lubricant G 052 150 A2 before installing.





- Place protective seal with outer sealing lip on piston.





- Insert inner sealing lip in cylinder groove with plastic wedge 3409 or equivalent.

Note: Hold piston in front of caliper housing when installing.





- Press piston into brake caliper housing with resetting tool.

Note: Protective seal outer lip must seat in piston groove.
