Diesel Fuel Injection System, Servicing



DIESEL FUEL INJECTION SYSTEM, SERVICING

CAUTION: Fire hazard. Do NOT smoke or have anything in the area that can ignite Diesel fuel!

NOTES:
- Hose connections are secured with screw-type or spring-type clips.
- Always replace spring-type clips with screw-type clips.
- Always replace seals and gaskets.





1 - Woodruff key
- Ensure that it is securely seated
2 - Injection pump
- With the exception of repairs described in "Diesel Fuel Injection Pump, Servicing", pumps must be replaced if found faulty because a factory flow bench is required for repairs. Service and Repair
3 - Supply line
- From fuel filter
4 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
5 - Return line

- From fuel injector
6 - Fuel injector lines
- 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
- Remove using 3035
- Always remove injector line cluster as an assembly
- Do not alter shape or bend
7 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
- Banjo-bolt for return line
- Is marked "OUT"
8 - Return line
- To control valve/fuel filter
9 - 15 Nm (11 ft lb)
- May be tightened to 25 Nm (18 ft lb) if leaks occur
10 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
11 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
12 - Bracket
13 - Sleeve

- Tapered
14 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
15 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)

- Nut with taper
16 - Console
17 - 25 Nm (18 ft lb)
18 - Injection pump sprocket

19 - 45 Nm (33 ft lb)
