Removing and Installing Sunroof Panel

Remove

1. Operate the sunroof to move it to its tilted-up position.





2. Insert the special tool into the edge of the tilting headliner trim frame:

- Remove headliner trim frame assembly with Volkswagen special tool 3195 (order no. T03 195 000 60 ZEL). Engage tool in edge of tilting frame (1). Pull down to engage edge of sliding frame (2) in groove (arrow A) of special tool. Dislodge headliner trim frame toward rear (arrow B).

3. Pull the tilting frame down until the tool also engages the front edge of the sliding headliner trim frame.

4. Hit the tool with the palm of your hand, as indicated in image, to dislodge the headliner trim frame assembly. Move it to the rear until the tool reaches the edge of the roof opening, then remove the tool.





5. Push the frame assembly to the rear until it reaches the stop.

- Slide dislodged frame assembly to rear, up to stop (arrow).

6. Remove the Torx sunroof panel mounting screws, and remove the panel from above.

Installing:





- Operating mechanism in closed position:

• Confirming sunroof operating mechanism in closed position. Pivots (A) within marked area (arrows), locking levers (B) engaged in guide rails. Refer to Adjustments, Adjustments





- Slotted adjusting washer fits over locating pins:

• Outer panel mounting. Tighten Torx screw (1) after placing adjusting washer (2) over locating pins (3).

- Lightly tighten screws.

- Adjust panel height.

- Tighten screws.
