Ignition Coil Wire: Description and Operation
Coil Wire:
The coil wire serves as an electrical conduit to conduct the sparking energy from the ignition coil to the distributor center electrode. The coil wire is connected between the ignition coil central terminal and the distributor cap center terminal. This model uses a low resistance wire with an auxiliary resistor built into the connector on the wire end. The auxiliary resistor provides high resistance to reduce radio static interference from the ignition system. It also reduces the possibility of induced voltages in the engine electrical harness that might cause false signals in sensor circuits.
