Power Steering Pump: Adjustments

V-Belt Tension Adjustment

1. Loosen hex nut -4-.
2. Loosen hex bolt -1-.






3. Loosen clamping bolt -3- for adjustment bolt -8- at least one full turn.
4. Adjust V-belt tension by turning adjustment bolt -8- with torque wrench tool No. VAG 1410 and VAG 1410/2, or equivalent

- Specification:
^ Used belts: 4 Nm (35 inch lbs.)
^ New belts: 7 Nm (62 inch lbs.)





5. Tighten clamping bolt -3- to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).
6. Tighten hex bolt -1- to 45 Nm (33 ft. lbs.).
7. Tighten hex bolt -2- and nut 4 to 25 Nm (18 ft. lbs.).

NOTE: Nut -4- used only on vehicles with gasoline engine.
