With A/C







Replacement





NOTE:
- The top control lever is connected to the vacuum distributor to control the ventilation air flow. The bottom lever is connected to the vacuum distributor, the A/C thermostat switch and the bowden cable for the heater valve.
- Figures in ( ) refer to applicable points in the image.

1. Pry off the control head trim plate.
2. Remove the control head mounting screws.





3. Pull off the multi-point connector.
4. Disconnect the heater valve control cable from the lever.

NOTE: Record vacuum hose connections before disconnecting the vacuum distributor.

5. Disconnect the vacuum hoses.





6. Pull the capillary tube (1) out of the copper tube (2) on the evaporator.
7. Disconnect the control cable from the lever.
8. Remove the control head.
9. Disconnect the control cable from the heater valve and remove the cable.





10. Place the control lever in the closed position. Install the cable onto the control head and install the retaining clip.





11. Insert capillary tube into the copper tube to an insertion depth of approximately 180 mm (7.0 in).





12. Install the cable onto the heater valve, making sure that the valve is closed, by moving the lever to off position (A) install the other retaining clip (B).
