Aluminum bumpers can be repainted if necessary. Special paint materials and application procedures are required as follows:
Materials required primer filler ALN 766 001
hardener ALZ 010 000
top coat ALN 769 90D (Alpine white)
LAD 003 C00 (Satin black)
Work procedure
- wash bumper and clean with silicone remover, Part No. L 017 906, or locally obtainable product sand thoroughly with 100-grit sandpaper
- clean bumper again with silicone remover
- apply two coats of primer
- after drying, sand with 800-grit sandpaper
- wipe area to be painted with tack cloth
- apply a thin top coat
- after first coat air dries, apply second coat
