Cold Start Injector: Testing and Inspection
1. Ensure that coolant temperature is below 30°C (86°F).
2. Remove coil wire from distributor cap and connect to ground.
3. Remove cold start valve with fuel line and electrical connector connected and point nozzle into suitable container.
4. Operate starter for 10 seconds and ensure that cold start valve sprays steadily and in an even, well atomized, cone shaped pattern.
5. Remove fuel pump relay, connect jumper wire (US 4480/3 or equivalent), and switch on jumper wire.
6. Wipe nozzle with clean rag and ensure that no drops form within one minute.
7. Replace cold start valve as necessary.
