Vacuum Brake Booster: Service and Repair

1. Remove master cylinder as previously described.
2. Disconnect vacuum line from brake booster.
3. Disconnect brake booster pushrod clevis pin from brake pedal.
4. Remove brake booster to mounting bracket attaching bolts and the brake booster.
5. Position new brake booster to mounting bracket and torque attaching nuts to 11 ft. lbs. on Quantum models, or 15 ft. lbs. on Jetta, Pickup, Rabbit and Scirocco models.
6. Connect booster pushrod clevis pin to brake pedal.
7. Connect vacuum line to brake booster, install master cylinder and bleed brake system. When bleeding brake system, push lever on brake pressure regulator located at rear axle, toward rear of vehicle.
