Clutch Cable: Description and Operation
CLUTCH CABLESConventional
There are two types of clutch cables used. Some models use the more conventional, manually adjusted cable which needs adjusting periodically to compensate for wearing of the clutch disc and it's parts.
Self-Adjusting
Some models are equipped with a self adjusting type clutch cable. It automatically compensates for wear, adjusting every time the clutch pedal is engaged. This cable can be identified by a rubber boot on top of the clutch cable sleeve. The two clutch cables are different and not interchangeable.
