Installation

STEERING COLUMN: STEERING WHEEL: INSTALLATION; 2013 MY Corolla [07/2012 -]

1. INSTALL LOWER STEERING WHEEL BOSS COVER

(a) for Type A:

(1) Install the 2 steering wheel pad attaching screws to the lower steering wheel boss cover.

(2) Engage the 2 claws to install the lower steering wheel boss cover to the steering wheel sub-assembly.

(3) Install the 2 screws.

(b) for Type B:

(1) Engage the 2 claws to install the lower steering wheel boss cover to the steering wheel sub-assembly.

(2) Engage the 2 pins.

2. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL SWITCH WIRE (w/ Cruise Control System)

3. INSTALL CRUISE CONTROL MAIN SWITCH (w/ Cruise Control System) Installation

4. INSTALL NO. 1 STEERING WHEEL ORNAMENT (w/o Steering Pad Switch RH)

(a) for Type A:

(1) Engage the 2 pins to install the No. 1 steering wheel ornament to the steering wheel sub-assembly.

(2) Install the screw.

Torque : 2.4 Nm (24 kgf-cm, 21 in-lbf)

(b) for Type B:

(1) Engage the 2 pins and claw to install the No. 1 steering wheel ornament to the steering wheel sub-assembly.

(2) Install the screw.

Torque : 2.4 Nm (24 kgf-cm, 21 in-lbf)

5. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH LH (w/o Steering Pad Switch RH) Installation

6. INSTALL STEERING PAD SWITCH ASSEMBLY (w/ Steering Pad Switch RH) Installation

7. ALIGN FRONT WHEELS FACING STRAIGHT AHEAD

8. ADJUST SPIRAL CABLE Installation

9. INSTALL STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY

(a) for Type A:

(1) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft.

Text in Illustration

(2) Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

Torque : 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)

(3) Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.

(b) for Type B:

(1) Align the matchmarks on the steering wheel assembly and steering main shaft.

Text in Illustration

(2) Install the steering wheel assembly set nut.

Torque : 50 Nm (510 kgf-cm, 37 ft-lbf)

(3) Connect the connectors to the spiral cable sub-assembly.
