Installation

PARKING BRAKE: PARKING BRAKE LEVER: INSTALLATION; 2013 MY Corolla [07/2012 -]

1. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE SWITCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the parking brake switch assembly to the parking brake lever sub-assembly with the screw.





Torque : 0.9 Nm (9 kgf-cm, 8 in-lbf)

2. INSTALL NO. 1 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Pass the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly through the parking brake lever sub-assembly.





(b) Bend the parking brake lever claw.





(c) Temporarily install the adjusting nut and the lock nut to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





3. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE CABLE END STOPPER

(a) Install the parking brake cable end stopper to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





4. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

(a) Engage the 2 claws to install the parking brake equalizer to the parking brake cable end stopper.





(b) Engage the 2 claws to install the parking brake cable end stopper to the No. 1 parking brake cable assembly.





5. INSTALL PARKING BRAKE LEVER ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the parking brake lever assembly with the 2 bolts.





Torque : 15 Nm (148 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

(b) Connect the parking brake switch connector.





6. CONNECT PARKING BRAKE EQUALIZER

(a) Connect the parking brake equalizer to the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly as shown in the illustration.





(b) Connect the parking brake equalizer to the No. 2 parking brake cable assembly.

HINT
Perform the same procedure for the No. 3 parking brake cable assembly.

7. INSTALL NO. 3 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 3 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 5 bolts.





Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

(b) Install the floor carpet.

8. INSTALL NO. 2 BELT ANCHOR REINFORCEMENT SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the No. 2 belt anchor reinforcement sub-assembly with the 4 bolts.





Torque : 27 Nm (275 kgf-cm, 19 ft-lbf)

9. ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL Adjustments

10. INSPECT BRAKE WARNING LIGHT Adjustments

11. INSTALL CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

12. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Manual Seat)

13. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH (for Power Seat)

Refer to the instructions for Installation of the front seat assembly Installation.

14. INSTALL FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY RH

HINT
Perform the same procedure for the LH side.

15. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)

16. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT (w/ Front Seat Side Airbag)
