SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: SEAT POSITION SENSOR (for Hatchback): REMOVAL

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).

1. PRECAUTION

NOTICE:
After turning the ignition switch off, waiting time may be required before disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal. Therefore, make sure to read the disconnecting the cable from the battery terminal notice before proceeding with work Service Precautions.

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait for at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable to prevent the airbag from working.

3. REMOVE FRONT SEAT ASSEMBLY LH

4. REMOVE SEAT SLIDE POSITION SENSOR PROTECTOR

(a) Disengage the clip to the remove the seat slide position sensor protector.





5. REMOVE SEAT POSITION AIRBAG SENSOR

(a) Disconnect the connector.





(b) Using a T30 "TORX" socket wrench, remove the screw and the seat position airbag sensor.
