SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback): INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).

1. INSTALL LOWER NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Connect the airbag connector.

(d) Push in the locking button to the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

NOTICE:
Securely lock the locking button.

(e) Engage the 6 claws and install the lower No. 1 instrument panel airbag assembly.

(f) Install the 4 bolts.

Torque : 10 Nm (102 kgf-cm, 7 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY Installation (from 07/2011)

3. INSTALL LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER Installation (from 07/2011)

4. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

5. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
