SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEMS: FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY (for Hatchback): INSTALLATION

CAUTION:
Some of these service operations affect the SRS airbag system. Read the precautionary notices concerning the SRS airbag system before servicing Airbag System (for Hatchback with VSC/Built-in Type Yaw Rate Sensor).

1. INSTALL NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE

(a) Connect the vent hole connector.

NOTICE:
* Do not damage the vent hole wire harness when connecting the vent hole connector.
* Securely lock the locking button.

(b) Connect the 2 airbag connectors to the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

NOTICE:
* Do not damage the airbag wire harness when connecting the airbag connector.
* Be sure to only connect the connectors to each corresponding color.
* Securely lock the locking button.

2. INSTALL FRONT PASSENGER AIRBAG CONNECTOR COVER

(a) Engage the 8 claws to install the front passenger airbag connector cover.

3. INSTALL INSTRUMENT PANEL PASSENGER AIRBAG ASSEMBLY

(a) Check that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Check that the cable is disconnected from the negative (-) battery terminal.

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

(c) Engage the 3 hooks B.





(d) Engage the 3 hooks A to install the instrument panel passenger airbag assembly.

(e) Install the 2 screws

4. INSTALL NO. 2 HEATER TO REGISTER DUCT Reassembly (from 07/2011)

5. INSTALL UPPER INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

Installation (from 07/2011)

6. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

7. INSPECT SRS WARNING LIGHT
