AXLE AND DIFFERENTIAL: REAR AXLE HUB BOLT (for Hatchback): REPLACEMENT

HINT
* Use the same procedure for the RH side as for the LH side.
* The procedure listed below is for the LH side.

1. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

2. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)

3. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

4. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

5. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE PAD (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

6. REMOVE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER MOUNTING (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

7. REMOVE REAR DISC (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

8. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB BOLT

(a) Using SST and a screwdriver or the equivalent, remove the axle hub bolt.

9. INSTALL REAR AXLE HUB BOLT

(a) Install the washer and the nut onto a new axle hub bolt, as shown in the illustration.

Recommended Service Nut:





HINT
Recommended thickness of the washer is 5 mm (0.197 in.) or more.

(b) Using a screwdriver or the equivalent to hold the axle hub, install the axle hub bolt by tightening the nut.

15. INSTALL REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)

16. INSTALL REAR WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

17. INSPECT AND ADJUST PARKING BRAKE LEVER TRAVEL (for Rear Disc Brake)
