On-Vehicle Inspection (from 07/2011)





HEATING / AIR CONDITIONING: COMPRESSOR (for Hatchback): ON-VEHICLE INSPECTION

1. INSPECT COMPRESSOR FOR METALLIC SOUND

(a) Check if there are any abnormal metallic sounds from the compressor when the A/C switch is on and the compressor operates.

If any abnormal metallic sound is heard, replace the compressor.

2. INSPECT REFRIGERANT PRESSURE

Refrigerant (For Hatchback)

3. INSPECT FOR LEAKAGE OF REFRIGERANT

(a) Using a halogen leak detector, check for leakage of refrigerant.

If there is any leakage, replace the compressor.

4. INSPECT COMPRESSOR WITH PULLEY ASSEMBLY

(a) Check operation of compressor with pulley assembly.

(1) Start the engine.

(2) Inspect the compressor with pulley assembly.

The compressor shaft rotates along with the pulley.

If the result is not as specified, replace the compressor with pulley assembly.
