Brake Fluid: Service and Repair
BRAKE SYSTEM (OTHER): BRAKE FLUID (for Hatchback): REPLACEMENT
NOTICE:
Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.
HINT
If any work is done on the brake system or if air in the brake lines is suspected, bleed the air from the system.
1. REMOVE CENTER COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER Service and Repair
2. FILL RESERVOIR WITH BRAKE FLUID Service and Repair
3. REPLACE BRAKE FLUID
(a) Connect a vinyl tube to the bleeder plug.
(b) Depress the brake pedal several times, and then loosen the bleeder plug with the pedal depressed (Step C).
(c) At the point where the fluid stops coming out, tighten the bleeder plug, and then release the brake pedal (Step D).
(d) Repeat Steps C and D until the new brake fluid is comes out.
(e) Tighten the bleeder plug.
Front Brake - Torque : 8.3 Nm (85 kgf-cm, 73 in-lbf)
Rear Brake (for Drum Type) - Torque : 8.5 Nm (87 kgf-cm, 75 in-lbf)
Rear Brake (for Disc Type) - Torque : 11 Nm (112 kgf-cm, 8 ft-lbf)
(f) Repeat the above procedure to bleed the air out of the brake line for each wheel.
4. INSPECT FOR BRAKE FLUID LEAK
5. INSPECT FLUID LEVEL Testing and Inspection
6. INSTALL CENTER COWL TOP VENTILATOR LOUVER Service and Repair
