Removal (From 07/2011)





BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: REAR SPEED SENSOR (for Hatchback): REMOVAL

1. REMOVE REAR CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

2. LOOSEN PARKING BRAKE CABLE (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

3. REMOVE REAR WHEEL

4. REMOVE REAR BRAKE DRUM SUB-ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

5. SEPARATE NO. 3 PARKING BRAKE CABLE ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

6. SEPARATE REAR DISC BRAKE CYLINDER ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)





(a) Remove the 2 bolts and separate the rear disc brake cylinder assembly from the axle beam.

NOTICE:
Hang the caliper using a piece of string or the equivalent.

7. REMOVE REAR DISC (for Rear Disc Brake) Removal (from 07/2011)

8. DISCONNECT SKID CONTROL SENSOR WIRE (w/ ABS)





(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the claw of the connector lock portion and disconnect the skid control sensor wire connector.

9. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Drum Brake)

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and remove the rear axle hub and bearing assembly from the axle beam.





NOTICE:
Suspend the backing plate with a piece of rope.

HINT
The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.

10. REMOVE REAR AXLE HUB AND BEARING ASSEMBLY (for Rear Disc Brake)

(a) Remove the 4 bolts , the rear axle hub and bearing assembly and disc brake dust cover sub-assembly from the axle beam.





HINT
The rear speed sensor is a component of the rear axle hub and bearing assembly. If the sensor malfunctions, replace the rear axle hub and bearing assembly.
