Removal (from 07/2011)





BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: BRAKE ACTUATOR (for Hatchback): REMOVAL

1. DRAIN BRAKE FLUID

NOTICE:
Immediately wash off any brake fluid that comes into contact with any painted surfaces.

2. REMOVE BATTERY Removal (from 07/2011)

3. REMOVE BATTERY TRAY

4. REMOVE BATTERY CARRIER Removal (from 07/2011)

5. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/o VSC)

(a) Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.

(b) Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, separate the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator.





(c) Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket from the side member.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.

6. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)

(a) Release the lock lever and disconnect the brake actuator connector.

NOTICE:
Be careful not to allow brake fluid to enter the removed connector.

(b) Using a union nut wrench 10 mm and union nut wrench 12 mm, separate the 6 brake tubes from the brake actuator.

(c) Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator with bracket from the side member.





NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.

7. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and brake actuator bracket assembly.





8. REMOVE BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION

(a) Remove the 3 brake actuator case collars from the brake actuator bolt cushion.

(b) Remove the 3 brake actuator bolt cushions from the brake actuator bracket assembly.
