Installation (from 07/2011)





BRAKE CONTROL / DYNAMIC CONTROL SYSTEMS: BRAKE ACTUATOR (for Hatchback): INSTALLATION

1. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BOLT CUSHION

(a) Install the 3 brake actuator bolt cushions to the brake actuator bracket assembly.

(b) Install the 3 brake actuator case collars to the brake actuator bolt cushion.

2. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR BRACKET ASSEMBLY

(a) Install the actuator bracket with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.





Torque : 5.4 Nm (55 kgf-cm, 48 in-lbf)

NOTICE:
* Do not remove the hole plug before connecting the brake tube. New actuators are filled with brake fluid.
* Do not carry an actuator by its connector.

3. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/o VSC)

(a) Install the brake actuator with bracket with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.





Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.

(b) Using a union nut wrench 10 mm, connect the 6 brake tubes to the brake actuator assembly.

Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where a union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.

(c) Connect the brake actuator connector.

NOTICE:
* Make sure that the connector is locked securely.
* Make sure that the actuator connector can be connected smoothly. Do not allow entry of water, oil or dirt.

4. INSTALL BRAKE ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY (w/ VSC)

(a) Install the brake actuator with bracket with the 3 bolts in the sequence shown in the illustration.





Torque : 19 Nm (194 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Do not damage the brake tubes or wire harness.

(b) Using a union nut wrench 10 mm and union nut wrench 12 mm, connect the 6 brake tubes to the brake actuator assembly.

Flare Nut 10 mm - Torque : 15 Nm (155 kgf-cm, 11 ft-lbf)

Flare Nut 12 mm - Torque : 20 Nm (199 kgf-cm, 14 ft-lbf)

NOTICE:
Use the formula to calculate special torque values for situations where a union nut wrench is combined with a torque wrench Service Precautions.

(c) Connect the brake actuator connector.
