C1555 - Motor Relay Welding Failure

DESCRIPTION

The power steering ECU assembly supplies the current to the power steering motor through the motor circuit.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* If the power steering ECU assembly or power steering motor assembly has been replaced, perform the torque sensor zero point calibration and assist map writing Programming and Relearning.
* Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.

PROCEDURE

1. INSPECT POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY

(a) Start the engine.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. INSPECT POWER STEERING MOTOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the power steering ECU assembly connector.





(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE POWER STEERING MOTOR ASSEMBLY Disassembly (from 07/2011)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (POWER STEERING ECU ASSEMBLY - BODY GROUND)

(a) Disconnect the power steering ECU assembly connector.





(b) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:





(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:
