Hood: Adjustments
ENGINE HOOD / DOOR: HOOD: ADJUSTMENT
HINT
* Centering bolts are used to mount the hood hinge and hood lock. The hood and hood lock cannot be adjusted with the centering bolts on. Substitute the centering bolts for standard bolts (w/ washers) when making adjustments.
* A bolt without a torque specification is shown in the standard bolt chart Standard Bolt - Specified Torque For Standard Bolts.
1. INSPECT HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Check that the clearance measurements of areas *1 through *5 are within each standard range.

2. REMOVE COOL AIR INTAKE DUCT SEAL Removal
3. REMOVE RADIATOR GRILLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal
4. ADJUST HOOD SUB-ASSEMBLY
(a) Adjust the hood horizontally and vertically by loosening the hinge bolts of the hood.
(b) Tighten the hinge bolts of the hood after the adjustment.
Torque : 13 Nm (133 kgf-cm, 10 ft-lbf)
(c) Adjust the cushion rubber so that the height of the hood and the fender are aligned.
(1) Raise or lower the front end of the hood by turning the cushion rubber. Make sure that the clearance is within the standard range.
(d) Adjust the hood lock.
(1) Remove the hood lock nut cap.
(2) Loosen the 3 bolts.
(3) Adjust the hood lock position so that the striker can enter smoothly.
(4) Tighten the hood lock bolts after the adjustment.
Torque : 8.0 Nm (82 kgf-cm, 71 in-lbf)
(5) Install a new hood lock nut cap.
