U760E AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE: AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY: REMOVAL

NOTICE:
If automatic transmission parts are replaced, refer to the Parts Replacement Compensation Table to determine if any additional operations are necessary Service Precautions.

1. REMOVE ENGINE ASSEMBLY WITH TRANSAXLE

See the steps from "Recover Refrigerant from Refrigeration System" through "Remove Engine Assembly with Transaxle" Removal.

2. INSTALL ENGINE HANGERS Removal

3. REMOVE STARTER ASSEMBLY Removal

4. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY LH Removal

5. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT LH HOLE SNAP RING (for TMC Made) Disassembly

6. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT LH HOLE SNAP RING (for TMMK Made) Disassembly

7. REMOVE FRONT DRIVE SHAFT ASSEMBLY RH Removal

8. REMOVE FRONT FRAME ASSEMBLY Removal

9. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR Removal

10. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH Removal

11. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH Removal

12. REMOVE TCM Removal

13. SEPARATE WIRE HARNESS

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and 2 ground cables.





(b) Separate the park/neutral position switch connector and 7 wire harnesses clamps.

14. REMOVE AUTOMATIC TRANSAXLE ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 9 bolts and transaxle.





NOTICE:
To prevent damage to the knock pins, do not pry between the transaxle and engine.

15. REMOVE FLEXIBLE HOSE BRACKET SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Slide the clip and disconnect the breather plug hose from the flexible hose bracket sub-assembly.





(b) Remove the bolt and flexible hose bracket sub-assembly from the transaxle.

16. REMOVE WIRE HARNESS CLAMP BRACKET

(a) Remove the 4 bolts and 4 wire harness clamp brackets from the transaxle.





17. REMOVE TRANSMISSION OIL COOLER

(a) Remove the No. 1 oil cooler outlet hose and No. 1 oil cooler inlet hose.





(b) Remove the 3 bolts and transmission oil cooler from the front engine mounting bracket.

18. REMOVE FRONT ENGINE MOUNTING BRACKET

(a) Remove the 3 bolts and front engine mounting bracket from the transaxle.





19. REMOVE NO. 1 TRANSMISSION CONTROL CABLE BRACKET

(a) Remove the 2 bolts and No. 1 transmission control cable bracket from the transaxle.





20. REMOVE TRANSMISSION CASE PLUG ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the transmission case plug assembly from the transaxle.





(b) Remove the O-ring from the transmission case plug assembly.

21. REMOVE TORQUE CONVERTER CLUTCH ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the torque converter clutch assembly from the automatic transaxle assembly.
