SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM (for Models with 2AR-FE and Automatic Transaxle): REMOVAL
HINT
* Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.
1. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL
2. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL
3. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH
4. REMOVE FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH
5. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER RH
6. REMOVE ENGINE UNDER COVER LH
7. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH (for LH Side)
8. REMOVE FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH (for RH Side)
9. SEPARATE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR FR
(a) Remove the 3 nuts to separate the engine mounting insulator FR from the front frame assembly.
10. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH (for LH Side)
(a) Remove the 2 hole plugs.
(b) Remove the 4 nuts.
(c) Using a jack and a wooden block, support the engine assembly with transaxle at the position shown in the illustration. While ensuring that there is no interference from surrounding engine components, tilt the engine assembly with transaxle to a position that allows the engine mounting insulator LH to be removed.
NOTICE:
* Do not position the wooden block on the oil pan.
* Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
* Tilt the engine assembly with transaxle as little as possible.
* Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.
* Keep the engine assembly with transaxle supported until installation of the engine mounting insulator LH is complete.
(d) Remove the engine mounting insulator LH.
11. REMOVE ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH (for RH Side)
(a) Remove the bolt and separate the steering gear return tube clamp.
(b) Remove the 2 hole plugs.
(c) Remove the 4 nuts.
(d) Using a jack and a wooden block, support the engine assembly with transaxle at the position shown in the illustration. While ensuring that there is no interference from surrounding engine components, tilt the engine assembly with transaxle to a position that allows the engine mounting insulator RH to be removed.
NOTICE:
* Do not position the wooden block on the oil pan.
* Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
* Tilt the engine assembly with transaxle as little as possible.
* Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.
* Keep the engine assembly with transaxle supported until installation of the engine mounting insulator RH is complete.
(e) Remove the engine mounting insulator RH.
12. REMOVE FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER NO. 1 ARM
(a) Remove the bolt and 2 nuts, and separate the front suspension lower No. 1 arm from the steering knuckle.
(b) Remove the 3 bolts and the nut on the front suspension lower No. 1 arm and remove it from the front frame assembly.
(c) Remove the front lower arm bushing stopper from the front suspension lower No. 1 arm.
