Installation





SUSPENSION: FRONT LOWER SUSPENSION ARM (for Models with 2AR-FE and Automatic Transaxle): INSTALLATION

HINT
* Use the same procedures for the RH side and the LH side.
* The procedures listed below are for the LH side.

1. INSTALL FRONT SUSPENSION LOWER NO. 1 ARM

(a) Install the front lower arm bushing stopper to the front suspension lower No. 1 arm.

(b) Install the front suspension lower No. 1 arm to the front frame assembly with the 3 bolts and the nut, but do not tighten them yet.

(c) Tighten the 3 bolts in numerical order shown in the illustration.





Torque : 200 Nm (2040 kgf-cm, 148 ft-lbf) (bolt A)

Torque : 206 Nm (2100 kgf-cm, 152 ft-lbf) (bolt B)

(d) Install the front suspension lower No. 1 arm to the steering knuckle with the bolt and 2 nuts.





Torque : 75 Nm (765 kgf-cm, 55 ft-lbf)

2. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR LH (for LH Side)

(a) Set the engine mounting insulator LH on the front frame assembly.





(b) Slowly lower the engine assembly with transaxle using a jack and a wooden block.

NOTICE:
* Match the position of the pin (stopper).
* Do not position the wooden block on the oil pan.
* Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
* Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.

(c) Install the engine mounting insulator LH with the nut (A).





Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)

(d) Install the engine mounting insulator LH with the 3 nuts (B).

Torque : 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft-lbf)

(e) Install the 2 hole plugs.

3. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR RH (for RH Side)

(a) Set the engine mounting insulator RH on the front frame assembly.





(b) Slowly lower the engine assembly with transaxle using a jack and a wooden block.

NOTICE:
* Match the position of the cutout (stopper).
* Do not position the wooden block on the oil pan.
* Do not damage the components surrounding the engine assembly with transaxle.
* Ensure that the jack and wooden block are stable.

(c) Install the engine mounting insulator RH with the nut (A).





Torque : 95 Nm (969 kgf-cm, 70 ft-lbf)

(d) Install the engine mounting insulator RH with the 3 nuts (B).

Torque : 87 Nm (887 kgf-cm, 64 ft-lbf)

(e) Install the 2 hole plugs.

(f) Install the steering gear return tube clamp with the bolt.





Torque : 7.8 Nm (80 kgf-cm, 69 in-lbf)

4. INSTALL ENGINE MOUNTING INSULATOR FR

(a) Install the engine mounting insulator FR to the front frame assembly with the 3 nuts.





Torque : 52 Nm (530 kgf-cm, 38 ft-lbf)

5. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL LH (for LH Side)

6. INSTALL FRONT FENDER APRON SEAL RH (for RH Side)

7. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER LH

8. INSTALL ENGINE UNDER COVER RH

9. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD LH

10. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL OPENING EXTENSION PAD RH

11. INSTALL FRONT WHEEL

Torque : 103 Nm (1050 kgf-cm, 76 ft-lbf)

12. CONNECT CABLE TO NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

13. INSPECT AND ADJUST FRONT WHEEL ALIGNMENT
