Disassembly Camry

1. Remove LH Front Seat.





Refer to TIS applicable model and model year Repair Manual:





2. Disengage the 7 claws and 3 clips and remove the front door scuff plate LH.





3. Remove cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.

A. Remove the cowl side trim clip.

B. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the cowl side trim sub-assembly LH.





4. Remove the lower instrument panel finish panel LH (for TMMK Made).

A. Remove the bolt and the screw.

B. Disconnect the hood lock control cable assembly.

C. Disengage the claw and the 9 clips.

D. Remove the air hose disconnect the connector and then remove the lower instrument panel finish panel LH.





5. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly (for Automatic Transaxle).





6. Turn the shift lever knob counterclockwise and remove the shift lever knob sub-assembly (for Manual Transaxle).





7. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the No. instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

8. Disengage the 2 clips and remove the No.2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.

9. Remove the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly (for Automatic Transaxle)





A. Disengage the 6 claws and the 3 clips and then remove the floor shift position indicator housing sub-assembly.

B. Disconnect each connector (with Seat Heater System).





10. Remove the upper console panel (for Manual Transaxle).

A. Open the lid of the upper console panel.

B. Apply protective tape to the area shown in the illustration.





C. Using a molding remover disengage the 2 claws and the 5 clips and then remove the upper console panel as shown in the illustration.

11. Remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly (for Automatic Transaxle).





A. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips.

B. Disconnect the connector and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.

12. Remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly (for Manual Transaxle).





A. Disengage the 3 claws and the 5 clips.

B. Disconnect the connector and remove the upper console rear panel sub-assembly.





13. Remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.

A. Remove the 2 screws.

B. Disengage the 4 claws.

C. Disconnect each connector and remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.





14. Remove the console box pocket.

15. Remove the console box carpet.

16. Remove the console box assembly.





A. Remove the 2 screws.

B. Disengage the clamp.

C. Remove the 2 bolts or and the console box assembly.





17. Remove the No.2 console box insert front.

A. Remove the 3 screws

B. Disengage the clip and remove the No.2 console box insert front.

18. Remove stereo component tuner (if equipped)





A. Remove the 2 clips and audio rack cover.





B. Disconnect each connector.

C. Disconnect the clamp.





D. Remove the bolt and stereo component tuner with bracket as shown in the illustration.

19. Remove the 3 floor carpet hooks release the 3 clamps release the 2 hook and loop fasteners and remove the LH front carpet assembly.





20. Remove accelerator pedal.

A. Disconnect the accelerator pedal connector.

B. Remove the 2 bolts and the accelerator pedal assembly.
