Applicability
Introduction
Some 2007 - 2011 Camry vehicles may exhibit uneven rear brake pad wear due to corrosion between the pad backing plate and mounting bracket. The outer pad may wear more at the top of the pad versus the bottom. The vehicle may also exhibit a grinding noise during braking due to metal-to-metal contact between the rotor and the pad backing plate. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to address this condition.

Warranty Information
APPLICABLE WARRANTY
^ This repair is covered under the Toyota Comprehensive Warranty. This warranty is in effect for 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the vehicle's in-service date.
^ Warranty application is limited to occurrence of the specified condition described in this bulletin.

Repair Procedure
1. Confirm the complaint condition (grinding noise from the rear brakes and uneven rear pad wear due to corrosion between the pad backing plate and mounting bracket).
2. Replace the Rear Brake Pads and Caliper/Pad Mounting Brackets (both sides).
3. Machine or replace rear rotors as needed.
