INTRODUCTION:
If the driver and front passenger sunvisors are operated forcefully, the mounting area of the sunvisor on the vehicle body may become damaged If this has occurred, the sunvisor may become loose from the mounting area located on the headliner. To address this condition, newly designed mounting brackets have been made available to reinstall the sunvisors. Follow the procedures in this bulletin to install the mounting brackets.
NOTE
Sunvisor with Vanity Light refer to Page 3~7.
Sunvisor without Vanity Light refer to Page 8~12.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
With Sunvisor Vanity Light
1. Remove the affected sunvisor assembly per instructions in TSB3158.
2. Straighten the roof sheet metal where the visor clips contact the roof.
3. Remove the two plastic reinforcements from the top surface of the headliner.
NOTE
Reinforcements are located on the RH rear and LH front corners of headliner opening for both the LH and RH visor assembly.
4. Apply felt to the roof panel opening for visor as shown.
From the Noise Kit, cut two felt strips of the following dimensions:
Length: 25 mm (1 in.)
Width: 9 mm (3/8 in.)
Thickness: 0.5 mm (0.02 in.) thinnest felt sheet material in the kit
5. Install the front visor support.
NOTE
Front and rear supports are identical.
A. Thread string or thin wire through the opening of the support.
B. Insert the support into the roof panel opening and attach the support hook to the front edge of the roof panel opening.
NOTE
- Hold the string or wire ends when installing to prevent the support from falling into the body.
- Move the connector toward the rear of the vehicle to widen the opening.
C. Attach felt between the support and the roof panel to hold the support in place.
From the Noise Kit, cut two felt strips of the following dimensions:
Length: 25 mm (1 in.)
Width: 5 mm (3/16 in.)
Thickness: 0.5 mm (0.02 in.)
D. Remove the string or wire from the support.
6. Install the rear visor support.
A. Thread string or thin wire through the opening of the support.
B. Insert the support through the connector opening and attach the support hook to the edge of the roof panel opening.
C. Reposition the string or wire as indicated in Figure 9.
D. Attach felt between the support and the roof panel to hold the support in place.
From the Noise Kit, cut two felt strips of the following dimensions:
Length: 25 mm (1 in.)
Width: 5 mm (3/16 in.)
Thickness: 0.5 mm (0.02 in.)
E. Remove the string or wire from the support.
7. Install the brackets into the sunvisor base.
A. Remove the clips remaining in the visor.
B. Insert two brackets into the visor base.
NOTE
- If brackets are loose and fall out easily, install tape to temporarily hold the brackets in position.
- If the brackets are tight, use a clamp or other device to secure the brackets flush to visor base.
8. Install the visor assembly.
A. Insert the visor base partially into the roof opening.
B. Install two screws into the visor support
Torque: 3.0 N-m(2.21 ft-lbf)
NOTE
Do NOT push the screw into the support. This could cause the support to come loose.
NOTE
Remove the tape from brackets if used in step 7b.
9. Install the cover from the Visor Kit.
Without Sunvisor Vanity Light
1. Remove the effected sunvisor assembly per instructions in TSB3158.
2. Straighten the roof sheet metal where the visor clips contact the roof.
3. Remove the two plastic reinforcements from top surface of headliner.
NOTE
Reinforcements are located on the RH Rear and LH Front corners of headliner opening for both the LH and RH Visor Assembly.
4. Apply felt to the roof panel opening for visor as shown below.
From the Noise Kit, cut two felt strips of the following dimensions:
Length: 25 mm (1 in.)
Width: 9 mm (3/8 in.)
Thickness: 0.5 mm (0.02 in.) thinnest felt sheet material in the kit.
5. Install the front visor support.
NOTE
Front and rear supports are identical
A. Thread string or thin wire through the opening of the support.
B. Insert the support into the roof panel opening and attach the support hook to the front edge of the roof panel opening.
NOTE
Hold string or wire ends when installing to prevent support from falling into the body.
C. Attach felt between the support and the roof panel to hold the support in place.
From the Noise Kit, cut two felt strips of the following dimensions:
Length: 25 mm (1 in.)
Width: 5 mm (3/16 in.)
Thickness: 0.5 mm (0.02 in.)
D. Remove the string or wire from the support.
6. Install the rear visor support.
A. Thread string or thin wire through the opening of the support.
B. Insert the support into the roof panel opening and attach the support hook to the rear edge of the roof panel opening.
C. Attach felt between the support and the roof panel to hold the support in place.
From the Noise Kit, cut two felt strips of the following dimensions:
Length: 25 mm (1 in.)
Width: 5 mm (3/16 in.)
Thickness: 0.5 mm (0.02 in.)
D. Remove the string or wire from the support.
7. Install the brackets into sunvisor base.
A. Remove the clips remaining in visor.
B. Insert two brackets into the visor base.
NOTE
- If the brackets are loose and fall out easily, install tape to temporarily hold the brackets in position.
- If the brackets are tight, use a clamp or other device to secure the brackets flush to the visor base.
8. Install the visor assembly.
A. Insert the visor base partially into roof opening.
B. Install two screws into visor support.
Torque: 3.0 N-m(2.21 ft-lbf)
NOTE
- Do not push the screw into the support. This could cause the support to come loose.
- Remove the tape from brackets if used in step 7b.
9. Install the cover from the Visor Kit.
