Rear Window Defogger System Does Not Operate (to 12/2010)
WINDSHIELD / WINDOW GLASS: WINDOW DEFOGGER SYSTEM: Rear Window Defogger System does not Operate
- Rear Window Defogger System does not Operate
DESCRIPTION
When the rear window defogger switch, which is built into the A/C control assembly, is operated, the operation signals are transmitted to the A/C amplifier assembly via LIN. Then the A/C amplifier assembly transmits the operation signal to the front controller via BEAN. When the A/C amplifier assembly receives the signals, it turns on the RR DEF relay to operate the rear window defogger.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
* Inspect the fuses for circuits related to this system before performing the following inspection procedure.
* Since the window defogger system uses BEAN communication, first confirm that there is no malfunction in the BEAN communication line. Refer to the How to Proceed with Troubleshooting procedure How To Proceed With Troubleshooting (to 12/2010).
PROCEDURE
1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM
(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Turn the ignition switch to ON.
(c) Turn the Techstream on.
(d) Enter the following menus: Body / Air Conditioner / Active Test.
(e) Perform the Active Test according to the display on the Techstream.
Air Conditioner (A/C Amplifier Assembly)
