Tire Pressure Warning Light Circuit (to 12/2010)

DESCRIPTION

If the ECU detects trouble, the tire pressure warning light blinks (comes on after blinking for 1 minute) and tire pressure warning system operation is cancelled at the same time. At this time, the ECU records a DTC in the memory.

Connecting terminals TC and CG of DLC3 to make the tire pressure warning light blink output DTCs.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
* When replacing the tire pressure warning ECU, read the transmitter IDs stored in the old ECU using the Techstream and note them down before removal.
* It is necessary to perform the initialization Initialization (to 12/2010) after the registration Registration (to 12/2010) of the transmitter IDs into the tire pressure warning ECU if the ECU has been replaced.

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (COMBINATION METER)

(a) Make sure that the ignition switch is off.

(b) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(c) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(d) Turn the Techstream on.

(e) Check the condition of the tire pressure warning light using the Techstream. Enter the following menus: Body / Combination Meter / Active Test.

Combination Meter:





OK:

The warning light comes on when operating the Techstream.

NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER Removal (to 12/2010)
OK -- Continue to next step.

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER - TIRE PRESSURE WARNING ECU)

(a) Disconnect the E30 combination meter connector.





(b) Disconnect the D54 tire pressure warning ECU connector.

(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard resistance:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE Problem Symptoms Table (to 12/2010)
