DESCRIPTION

The front controller receives headlight HI switch information from the combination switch, and turns on the headlights (high).

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Turn the Techstream on.

(d) Enter the following menus: Body Electrical / Body No. 5 / Active Test.

(e) Check the operation.

Body No. 5 (Front Controller)





OK:

High beam comes on.

NG -- CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - FRONT CONTROLLER)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (BATTERY - FRONT CONTROLLER)

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard voltage:





NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY

(a) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.





Standard voltage:





NG -- REPLACE ENGINE ROOM JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY (FRONT CONTROLLER)

OK -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (FRONT CONTROLLER - BODY GROUND)
