INSPECTION PROCEDURE
HINT
* The passenger seat belt warning light can be inspected with it removed from the vehicle.
* If there is an open in the front passenger side seat belt buckle switch circuit, the center airbag sensor assembly outputs the DTCs. Perform troubleshooting with the "Supplemental Restraint System" Occupant Classification System (from 12/2010).
PROCEDURE
1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check for DTCs.
Result:
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
2. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
(a) Check for DTCs.
Result:
B -- GO TO MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (FRONT PASSENGER SIDE SEAT BELT)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Ignition switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the tester on.
(d) Enter following menus: Body Electrical / Combination Meter / Active Test.
(e) Check the operation by referring to the table below.
Combination Meter:
OK:
Indicator light (OFF or ON) can be switched by ACTIVE TEST.
NG -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
4. READ VALUE USING TECHSTREAM (PASSENGER BUCKLE SW)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Ignition switch on (IG).
(c) Turn the tester on.
(d) Enter following menus: Body Electrical / SRS Airbag / Active Test.
(e) Check the values by referring to the table below.
SRS Airbag:
OK:
Switch condition (OFF or ON) can be switched by actual operation.
NG -- GO TO SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM
OK -- Continue to next step.
5. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY - COMBINATION METER)
(a) Disconnect the E30 and D59 connectors.
(b) Measure the resistance to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY CIRCUIT)
(a) Disconnect the D59 connector.
(b) Measure the voltage according the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Voltage:
(c) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard Resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR
OK -- Continue to next step.
7. INSPECT A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY
(a) Disconnect the A/C control assembly.
(b) Connect the positive (+) battery lead to terminal 16 (IG+), and the negative (-) battery lead to terminal 1 (GND) and 14 (PBEW).
OK:
NG -- REPLACE A/C CONTROL ASSEMBLY
OK -- REPLACE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY
