DESCRIPTION

When the A/C switch is turned on, the magnetic clutch ON signal is sent from the MGC terminal of the A/C amplifier. Then, the MG CLT relay turns on to operate the magnetic clutch.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

PROCEDURE

1. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM

(a) Connect Techstream to DLC3.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG) and turn Techstream on.

(c) Select the item below in the Active Test and then check that the relay operates.

Data List / Air Conditioner:

NG -- INSPECT FUSE (A/C COMP)

OK -- PROCEED TO NEXT CIRCUIT INSPECTION SHOWN IN PROBLEM SYMPTOMS TABLE

2. INSPECT FUSE (A/C COMP)

(a) Remove the A/C COMP fuse from the instrument panel J/B.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE FUSE (A/C COMP)
OK -- Continue to next step.

3. INSPECT MAGNETIC CLUTCH RELAY

(a) Remove the MG CLT relay (magnetic clutch relay) from engine room R/B and J/B.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NOTICE:
While using the battery during inspection, do not bring the positive and negative tester probes too close to each other as a short circuit may occur.

NG -- REPLACE MAGNETIC CLUTCH RELAY
OK -- Continue to next step.

4. INSPECT W/MAGNETIC CLUTCH COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect the connector from the w/ magnet clutch compressor assembly.

(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Resistance:

NG -- REPLACE W/MAGNETIC CLUTCH COMPRESSOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.

5. INSPECT AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER

(a) Remove the A/C amplifier and disconnect the connector.

(b) Turn the ignition switch on (IG).

(c) Measure the voltage according to the value(s) in the table below.

Standard Voltage:

Result:

C -- GO TO PUSH BUTTON START SYSTEM

B -- GO TO STARTING SYSTEM

A -- REPLACE AIR CONDITIONING AMPLIFIER
