DESCRIPTION

The skid control ECU is connected to the combination meter via the CAN and multiplex communication systems.

INSPECTION PROCEDURE

NOTICE:
When replacing the ABS & TRACTION actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Calibration (from 12/2010).

PROCEDURE

1. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Check if the CAN communication system DTC is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

2. CHECK MULTIPLEX COMMUNICATION SYSTEM

(a) Check if the multiplex communication system DTC is output Reading and Clearing Diagnostic Trouble Codes.

3. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (SLIP INDICATOR LIGHT)

(a) Connect the Techstream to the DLC3.

(b) Start the engine.

(c) Select the Active Test on the Techstream Data List / Active Test.

ABS/VSC/TRAC





(d) Check that the SLIP indicator light on the combination meter turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream operation.

OK:

The SLIP indicator light turns on or off in accordance with the Techstream operation.

If troubleshooting has been carried out according to the Problem Symptoms Table, refer back to the table and proceed to the next step before replacing the part Problem Symptoms Table (from 12/2010).

NG -- INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

OK -- REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY

4. INSPECT COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn the ignition switch off.

(b) Perform Active Test of the combination meter (meter CPU) using the Techstream Data List / Active Test (from 12/2010).
