Removal (from 12/2010)





INSTRUMENT PANEL: INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD: REMOVAL

1. PRECAUTION

Precaution (from 12/2010)

2. DISCONNECT CABLE FROM NEGATIVE BATTERY TERMINAL

CAUTION:
Wait at least 90 seconds after disconnecting the cable from the negative (-) battery terminal to disable the SRS system.

NOTICE:
When disconnecting the cable, some systems need to be initialized after the cable is reconnected Repair Instruction - Initialization.

3. REMOVE LOWER NO. 3 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal (from 12/2010)

4. REMOVE LOWER NO. 2 STEERING WHEEL COVER Removal (from 12/2010)

5. REMOVE STEERING PAD Removal (from 12/2010)

6. REMOVE STEERING WHEEL ASSEMBLY Removal (from 12/2010)

7. REMOVE LOWER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal (from 12/2010)

8. REMOVE UPPER STEERING COLUMN COVER Removal (from 12/2010)

9. REMOVE TURN SIGNAL SWITCH ASSEMBLY WITH SPIRAL CABLE SUB-ASSEMBLY Removal (from 12/2010)

10. REMOVE CENTER UPPER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL

(a) Disengage the 10 clips as shown in the illustration to remove the center upper instrument cluster finish panel.





NOTICE:
Make sure to pull the center upper instrument cluster finish panel in the direction indicated by the arrows in the illustration to disengage the clips.

11. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL WITH RADIO RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/o Navigation System) Removal (from 12/2010)

12. REMOVE INTEGRATION CONTROL AND PANEL WITH NAVIGATION RECEIVER ASSEMBLY (w/ Navigation System) Removal (from 12/2010)

13. REMOVE CENTER INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 9 claws and 2 clips.





(b) Disconnect each connector and remove the center instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

14. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 2 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument cluster finish garnish as shown in the illustration.





15. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PLATE (w/o Smart Key System)

(a) Remove the instrument panel finish plate.





16. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 8 clips.





(b) Disconnect each connector and remove the instrument panel sub-assembly.

17. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Remove the 2 screws (E).





(b) Disengage the 3 claws and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel sub-assembly.

18. REMOVE COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY Removal (from 12/2010)

19. REMOVE NO. 1 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 1 instrument panel register assembly.





20. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY LH Removal (from 12/2010)

21. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE LH Removal (from 12/2010)

22. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL LH

(a) Open the cover as shown in the illustration.





(b) Remove the bolt (B) or (C) and screw (E).

(c) Disconnect the hood lock control cable.

(d) Disengage the 2 claws and disconnect the room temperature sensor.





(e) Disengage the 7 claws and 4 clips.

(f) Disconnect each connector and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel LH.

23. REMOVE DRIVER SIDE KNEE AIRBAG ASSEMBLY Removal (from 12/2010)

24. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL LH

(a) Disengage the 4 claws and 3 guides, and remove the instrument side panel LH.





25. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT CLUSTER FINISH PANEL GARNISH

(a) Disengage the 4 clips and remove the No. 2 instrument cluster finish panel garnish.





26. REMOVE NO. 4 INSTRUMENT PANEL REGISTER ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 6 claws and remove the No. 4 instrument panel register assembly.





27. REMOVE COWL SIDE TRIM SUB-ASSEMBLY RH Removal (from 12/2010)

28. REMOVE FRONT DOOR SCUFF PLATE RH Removal (from 12/2010)

29. REMOVE NO. 2 INSTRUMENT PANEL UNDER COVER SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 4 claws and 2 guides as shown in the illustration.

(b) Disconnect each connector and remove the No. 2 instrument panel under cover sub-assembly.

30. REMOVE LOWER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL RH

(a) Remove the bolt (B) or (C) and 4 screws (E).





(b) Disengage the 3 claws and clip and remove the lower instrument panel finish panel RH.

31. REMOVE INSTRUMENT SIDE PANEL RH

(a) Disengage the claw, 2 clips and 3 guides, and remove the instrument side panel RH.





32. REMOVE SHIFT LEVER KNOB SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Turn the shift lever knob sub-assembly in the direction indicated by the arrow and remove it.





33. REMOVE POSITION INDICATOR HOUSING ASSEMBLY

(a) Disengage the 5 claws and remove the position indicator housing assembly.





34. REMOVE SEAT HEATER SWITCH (w/ Seat Heater System)

(a) Disengage the 4 claws.





(b) Disconnect the connector and remove the seat heater switch.

35. REMOVE UPPER CONSOLE PANEL SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Using a screwdriver, disengage the 6 claws and remove the upper console box.

(b) Disengage the 10 clips.





(c) Disconnect each connector and remove the upper console panel sub-assembly.

36. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX CARPET

(a) Remove the console box carpet.

37. REMOVE CONSOLE BOX ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect each connector.





(b) Remove the 2 bolts (D), 2 screws (E) and console box assembly.

38. REMOVE FRONT CONSOLE BOX

(a) Remove the 2 nuts (F) and screw (E).





(b) Disengage the 2 claws and remove the front console box.

39. REMOVE LOWER CENTER INSTRUMENT PANEL FINISH PANEL

(a) Remove the 2 screws (E).





(b) Disengage the 2 clips and remove the lower center instrument panel finish panel.

40. REMOVE NO. 1 SPEAKER HOLE COVER

(a) Using a moulding remover, disengage the 12 claws and remove the No. 1 speaker hole cover.





41. REMOVE FRONT NO. 3 SPEAKER ASSEMBLY Removal

42. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH LH Removal (from 12/2010)

43. REMOVE FRONT PILLAR GARNISH RH Removal (from 12/2010)

44. REMOVE TIRE PRESSURE MONITOR ECU Removal (from 12/2010)

45. DISCONNECT INSTRUMENT PANEL WIRE ASSEMBLY Removal (from 12/2010)

46. REMOVE INSTRUMENT PANEL SAFETY PAD SUB-ASSEMBLY

(a) Disconnect each connector.

(b) Remove the 2 bolts (A) and 2 nuts (F).

(c) Disengage each clamp.

(d) Disengage the 5 pins and remove the instrument panel safety pad sub-assembly.
