* Use the following procedure to troubleshoot the navigation system.

1. VEHICLE BROUGHT TO WORKSHOP
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
2. INSPECT BATTERY VOLTAGE
(a) Measure the battery voltage.
Standard Voltage:
11 to 14 V
If the voltage is below 11 V, recharge or replace the battery before proceeding to the next step.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
3. DIAGNOSTIC QUESTIONING AND SYMPTOM CONFIRMATION
(a) Ask the customer about symptoms and confirm malfunctions.
Result:
B -- GO TO STEP 10, AND PROCEED TO "BLACK SCREEN"
A -- Continue to next step.
4. OPERATION CHECK
(a) Refer to Check System Normal Condition Operation Check (to 12/2010).
Result:
B -- SYMPTOM IS NORMAL OPERATION

5. CHECK CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM*
(a) Check for DTC output Initial Inspection and Diagnostic Overview.
Result:
B -- GO TO CAN COMMUNICATION SYSTEM
A -- Continue to next step.
6. CHECK FOR DTC*
(a) Refer to DTC Check/Clear DTC Check / Clear (to 12/2010).
Result:
HINT
If the system cannot enter the diagnostic mode, inspect the AVC-LAN and all the components that connect to the AVC-LAN for short circuits and repair or replace the problem part AVC-LAN Circuit (to 12/2010).

7. DTC CLEAR*
(a) Clear the DTCs and finish the diagnostic mode.
HINT
The current DTCs may not indicate actual malfunctions depending on the vehicle operating conditions.
NEXT -- Continue to next step.
8. RECHECK FOR DTC*
Result:
HINT
* If the system cannot enter the diagnostic mode, inspect the AVC-LAN and all the components that connect to the AVC-LAN for short circuits.
* Even if the malfunction symptom is not confirmed, check for diagnostic trouble codes. This is because the system stores past diagnostic trouble codes.
* Refer to the detailed description on the diagnostic screen as necessary Description and Operation.
* Check the diagnostic trouble code and inspect the area that the code indicates.

9. DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE CHART
(a) Find the output code in Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart Diagnostic Trouble Code Chart (to 12/2010).

(a) Refer to Problem Symptoms Table Problem Symptoms Table (to 12/2010).

11. PERFORM TROUBLESHOOTING BASED ON THE MALFUNCTION SYMPTOM
(a) Refer to Terminals of ECU Terminals of ECU (to 12/2010).

(a) Adjust, repair or replace as necessary.
