Open in Pump Motor Circuit - Vehicle Stability Control System (from 12/2010)
BRAKE CONTROL: VEHICLE STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM: C1251/51: Open in Pump Motor Circuit
C1251/51 - Open in Pump Motor Circuit
DESCRIPTION
The pump motor is located inside the ABS & TRACTION actuator assembly.
WIRING DIAGRAM
Refer to DTCs C0273/13, C0274/14 and C1361/91 Vehicle Stability Control System (from 12/2010).
INSPECTION PROCEDURE
NOTICE:
When replacing the ABS & TRACTION actuator assembly, perform zero point calibration Calibration (from 12/2010).
PROCEDURE
1. INSPECT SKID CONTROL ECU (GND TERMINAL)
(a) Disconnect the skid control ECU connector.
(b) Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
Standard resistance:
NG -- REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR (GND2 CIRCUIT)
OK -- Continue to next step.
2. PERFORM ACTIVE TEST USING TECHSTREAM (ABS MOTOR RELAY OPERATION)
(a) Connect Techstream to the DLC3.
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Select the Active Test on the Techstream.
(d) Check the operating sound of the ABS motor relay when operating it with the Techstream.
ABS/VSC/TRAC
OK:
The operating sound of the ABS motor relay is heard.
NG -- REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
OK -- Continue to next step.
3. RECONFIRM DTC
(a) Clear the DTC DTC Check / Clear (from 12/2010).
(b) Start the engine.
(c) Drive the vehicle at the speed of 7 km/h (4.3 mph) or more.
(d) Check that the same DTC is recorded DTC Check / Clear (from 12/2010).
HINT
Reinstall the sensors, connectors, etc. and restore the vehicle to its prior conditions before rechecking for DTCs.
Result:
HINT
* If a speed signal of 6 km/h (4 mph) or more is input to the skid control ECU, with the ignition switch on (IG) and the stop light switch OFF, the ECU performs self diagnosis of the motor and solenoid circuits.
* If a normal system code is output (trouble code is not output), slightly jiggle the connectors, wire harness, and fuses of the ABS & TRACTION actuator assembly. Make sure that no DTCs are output.
* If any DTCs are output while jiggling a connector or wire harness of the ABS & TRACTION actuator assembly, inspect and repair the connector or wire harness.
HINT
It is suspected that the DTCs were output due to a bad connection of the connector terminal.
B -- REPLACE ABS & TRACTION ACTUATOR ASSEMBLY
A -- END
